Club Coaches
- Can only conduct Kick Start .
- Cannot take out a permit for themselves, run a coaching day OR conduct endorsement coaching.
- Can coach a maximum of six people at a time during Kick Start.
Applying – requirements:

Be 18 years or older

Have at least 2 years practical experience in motorcycle competition as a competitor or official and have sound knowledge of motorcycling riding skills
- Attend a Motorcycling Tasmania Coaching Course – You can express your interest by contacting us
- Before attending the course please ensure you have a current Working with Children Check and bring this along to the course.
Application Process:
Step 1: Head to Learning website and create an account
Step 2: Child Safeguarding
Step 3: Club Coach Course
Step 4: Complete WWVC Card and First aid training
Step 5: Assist an existing coach and when ready have them complete a competency assessment here – Club Coach Assessment
Step 6: Return evidence of the above to admin@mtas.org.au Learning certificates found here:
Renewing – requirements:

Level 1 Coaches
- Can take out their own permits, run coaching days, conduct endorsement coaching and Kick Start Coaching
- Can coach a maximum of six people at a time, unless with a Level 2 Coach where they can then coach up to ten people at a time.
Applying – requirements:
- Hold current MA Club Coach accreditation.
- Must achieve a satisfactory review (endorsement) by L1 or L2 coach for coaching competency pre-course found here – Level 1 coach assessment form
- Complete the e-Learning SportAus Community Coaching Essential Skills modules found here – Community Coaching Essential Skills
- Complete the e-Learning Sport Integrity Australia Safeguarding Children and Young People in Sport Induction here – Safeguarding Children and Young People in Sport Induction
- Complete the e-Learning Sport Integrity Australia Coaches Course here – Coaches Course
- Complete the e-Learning Sport Integrity Australia National Integrity Framework Course here – NIF Course
- Complete the e-Learning Sport Integrity Australia Anti-Doping Fundamentals Course here – Anti Doping
- Complete the e-Learning Sport Integrity Australia Annual Update Course (completed yearly) found here – Annual Update
- Attend and pass a two-day Level 1 Motorcycle Sport Coaching course coordinated by an SCB.
- Log 16 hours of development coaching while assisting a L1 or L2 coach.
- Fulfil the Child Protection requirements (WWCC) for the State/s or Territory in which you wish to coach and reside.
- Provide proof of current First Aid/CPR accreditation.

Application Process:

Level 1 Coaching Application & Renewal
Step 2: Send in the above form with your Participation Journal, ASC Completion certificate Here Learning centre history Here , First aid certificate and your current Working with Children Check to admin@mtas.org.au
Renewing – requirements:

Be 18 years or older

Supply a current Working with Children’s Check

Have completed at least 20 hours of ‘Sport Specific Tasks’ and 10 hours of ‘General Sports Tasks’ over the 4 year period from the date of accreditation and licence issue. The following are suitable activities: –
Sport Specific Tasks (20 hours)
- Present/lecture at courses
- Attend Training Camps
- Conduct Practical Club Coaching
General Sport Tasks (10 hours)
- Attend State Department of Sport Recreation courses
- Attend other NCAS courses
- Obtain Sport Trainer accreditation
- Obtain First Aid (Red Cross / St John Ambulance)
- CPR accreditation
- Obtain an officials accreditation
Renewal Process:
Step 1: Compete the below form
Level 1 Coaching Application & Renewal
Step 2: Send the completed form along with your Participation Journal and current Working with Children Check to admin@mtas.org.au
Level 2 Coaches
- Can take out their own permits, run coaching days, conduct endorsement coaching, Kick Start Coaching and also complete Supercross Endorsements.
- Can coach a maximum of fifteen people at a time and with Level 1 Coaches can have an additional ten people.
Applying – requirements:
- Be 18 years or older
- Have a Level 1 Coaching Licence
- Supply a current Working with Children’s Check
Application Process:
Step 1: Complete the below form
Level 2 Coaching Accreditation
Step 2: Send in the above form with your Participation Journal and your current Working with Children Check to admin@mtas.org.au
Step 3: Your application is reviewed by the Motorcycling Tasmania Coaching Committee
Step 4: Motorcycling Tasmania notifies you of your applications outcome
Step 5: Successfully endorsed applications will be forwarded to MA
Step 4: MA will be in contact with the applicant
