NEW RACE CLASSES FOR 2021
Hi everyone, at the beginning of 2020, both clubs announced that a review would be undertaken of all race classes to consider what changes may be necessary to better suit our community going forward.
The Tas Road Race Committee has now met several times to consider this, and has made suggestions for change to the committees of both the SRCT and the TMCC. Both clubs have now approved the following changes for the 2021 road race season:
Historic and Pre-Modern classes will be combined into a new class called ‘Golden Era’. This will include groups for up to 500cc, and over 500cc. Golden Era will be for all bikes manufactured up until the 31-Dec-1997
A new ‘Pre-Modern’ class will be introduced for machines manufactured between 1-Jan-1998 and 31 Dec 2005. This will include classes for Pre-Modern Supersport and Pre-Modern Unlimited.
Rider Grading
Will now be applied to all riders competing in Tas Supersport and Tas Superbike ONLY. Gradings will include A, B and C
SRCT and TMCC will make grading recommendations to the Tas Road Race Committee for consideration. The Tas Road Race Committee will pass on its recommendations to the state controlling body (Motorcycling Tasmania) for ratification.
Note that any rider not happy with their grading can approach their clubs to have this considered
Riders competing in Tas SSP or Tas SBK for the first time will compete as C grade
State series trophies will be presented at end of year to Tas SBK and Tas SSP placegetters, plus state B grade and state C grade winners. Medals or ribbons will be presented at each round to Tas SBK and Tas SSP placegetters, plus 1st place B grade and 1st place C grade in Tas SBK and Tas SSP.
State race classes for 2021 will include:
Tas SBK (A, B and C grade)
Tas SSP (A, B and C grade)
Lites Production
Lites GP
